trips, shows and walk/runs...
Poppin' in for a quick hello! My husband Chris finally returned from his week long trip to upstate NY. He was there for business ...but stopped in Cooperstown along the way. The town looks really cute and quaint. I love old towns like this. He spent the day at the Baseball Hall of Fame...Chris is a HUGE baseball fan...so this is sacred ground:)
And Jake ran in his school's annual Walk/Run Event! Go Jake! It was in the 50's yesterday...overcast, drizzling...SOOOO cold! But the kids did really great!!!
I've been working away on a really special commission...here's a SNEAK peek and I'll give you details after it is complete:)
Also have a couple more Lulettes special orders to finish up and I THINK I am all caught up!!?? Could it be???? Still workin' towards a shop update for the weekend. NEW lulettes...fun little Halloween tins...and more! Have a beautiful day!!!! xoxo...jenn

rain, rain you made my day!
Yes...it's raining, it's pouring and I couldn't be MORE thrilled! The rain not only makes my little flowers happy...
but it means 2 outdoor events I was supposed to be at today were cancelled!! yipppeeeee! Okay, that sounds awfully mean of me...but I am tired. Henry has a cold. My husband has been out of town all week and did I mention I'm tired? Jake had a Walk/Run event at school this morning...now postponed until Monday. ****smile**** Baseball game tonight at the coldest, windiest field you will ever visit...cancelled. ****smile**** NOW...I can stay in my comfy, warm, cozy house and make a normal dinner and get some work done tonight!! yipppppeeee! It's the little things folks:)
Onto my new camera. This is pathetic...but I told you I was technologically challenged so maybe you won't make TOO much fun of me. I was trying to plug the webcam USB thing into my camera...that's why it was way too big. ummmm, yeah. So, once I figured that minor detail out...I loaded the new software and uploaded my pictures...but only some showed up??? Explain that one to me!? Regardless, I was still pretty excited! I need to find a big block of time (hahaha) to sit down with the manual and learn how to use the thing correctly! anyhooooo...Here are a few things I've been workin' on...

baby pansies for a happy wednesday
Throughout the day I will be listing some prints in my little shop! The 2 cone hat gals are already over there! I wanted to do some smaller prints of them...but then thought of attaching them to note cards. You can either frame them or give them! I don't know about you...but I love to frame cards!!
edit: Lil' Sheila and Pink Dress, Striped Tights Prints have made their way to the shop now too!
I'm off to tackle my day. No baseball, no appointments, no schedule today!! Yippppeee:) I forgot to show you a picture of the Mother's Day present I made for my Mom. I sculpted this Mother dollie for her...she is holding a little nest and she hangs on the wall:) (wow...another crummy picture...sorry!)
Thank you so much for peekin' in on me today!!! xoxoxo...jenn

hooray for Brooklyn!!
Well, my Mom left early, early this morning and we all had such a nice visit! I'm itching to show you some photos from the Brooklyn Botanic Garden!! oh. my. goshhhhhh. What an amazing and beautiful place! If you are anywhere near Brooklyn...you must go. Go now! The museum is right next door...Prospect Park is just around the corner...FABULOUS. It was absolutely frigid Saturday. Overcast, misty rain...chiiiiillllly! But, we didn't let any of that damper our spirits! We wrapped ourselves in scarves and blankets and hats and gloves and enjoyed every moment. Take a peek...
jake and henry in the Shakespeare Garden
wouldn't you love to wake up to a view like this every morning!!?
the cherry blooms!!! there were HUNDREDS of these trees. I could never capture how it was to see these in person. Walking beneath the canopy of these trees was like walking in a fairy world! When you looked up...there were billions of blooms surrounding you and tiny petals falling all around you. Spectacular!!
sweet little white flowers...
and the peonies were as big as my head!!! I want a peony garden!!!
I'm off to bed for now...but I'm looking forward to catching up with all of you soon and sharing some goodies I'm the new proud owner of:) See ya tomorrow! xoxo...jenn

off to the gardens...
Hi everyone! Still running like Louise on her wheel...but of course I wouldn't have it any other way;) Well...the way where you have several uninterrupted hours to yourself would be good too...ha! Finishing up some special treats to show you all. One is the sweetest commission piece involving a mermaid that I am soo enjoying painting. No sneak peeks yet because the sweet people that ordered it haven't seen it yet and they are being very patient. It is the sort of painting that you just get really involved in and sit and look at and work on more...etc. Know what I mean?? Also am finishing up a couple sets of commissioned lulettes too. Always love making those!! Other treats are some more funky french couples and house lulettes and card sets for you:) But first... My Mom is in town! She got in late last night and will be here for a few days! She hasn't been here since Halloween, so we are very excited to have her here:)
(sold painting from my 2007 collection)
And the "cherry" on top of the ice cream cone is...Tomorrow, we are all heading to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden for Sakura Matsuri !! It is supposed to be super chilly and possibly rainy...so cross all your fingers for a peek of the sun for us;) This celebration is New York City's "rite of Spring"...TONS of flowering cherry blooms!!! eeeeeeek....I can't wait!!!! look at all this wonderful land to explore!!

perfect day for a stroll around the pond...
Well...a little chilly and overcast....but look at the flowering trees!!!
Look. Even the boys took a moment to sit quietly and reflect on the beauty around them. Who am I kidding...they were talking away here. A second later someone kicked someone. I won't name names. Back to tranquility...
LOVE the forsythias!!! they are everywhere here on Long Island.
